Dan Buchner is an award winning designer and innovator, entrepreneur and business executive, and leadership development professional. He has driven innovation in a wide range of organizations worldwide. For nearly 30 years, Dan has been developing innovative new products, creating compelling new services, and helping leaders foster innovative practices within their organizations. At the Peter Lougheed Leadership Institute Dan provided overall leadership, strategic direction, program philosophy, and design and delivery focusing on leadership for social innovation. Programming for youth included Alberta Youth Volunteers, Stoney Nakoda Youth program, and the Community Foundations of Canada Leadership Program.

Dan is a sought-after international keynote speaker and facilitator on innovation practices and organizational strategies. He has directed interdisciplinary projects for leading organizations such as Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, USAID, Shanghai GM, Center for Creative Leadership and the Prime Ministers Office of Singapore. Dan believes in the power of innovation and leadership to positively impact society. His recent work has involved using innovative thinking as an economic, leadership and social development tool in South Africa, El Salvador, Jordan, and India.


He has won numerous design and innovation awards. His perspective on innovation and leadership has been published in the Globe and Mail, Huffington Post and the New York Times. Dan is a graduate of the Co-Active Leadership Program and completed his coaching training through the Coaches Training Institute.

Sue Abuelsamid is a specialist in cultivating leaders with a focus on using curiosity as a tool for engagement in authentic dialogue and designed relationship that brings about sustainable, impactful, and effective leadership. As an educator, entrepreneur, and professional certified coach, Sue brings a wealth of experience to deliver results that lead to real culture change and enables clients to design their ideal teams and lives while connecting with their whole selves.


Sue has designed and led a highly successful coaching skills training program for faculty and staff at Anne Arundel College in MD, and she has led corporate training in leadership development for Shell, Takeda, Great West Life Insurance, and ThoughtExchange. She has also partnered successfully with such organizations as The Banff Centre, Schouten Global, and the Calgary School Board. Sue is certified in The Leadership Circle 360 Profile assessment, and she also has an extensive background in outdoor education and leads backcountry women’s leadership retreats in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota.


Sue has lived and/or worked in Mexico, Ecuador, the US and various parts of Canada. With over 25 years of experience in education and business, she creates a learning atmosphere that is powerful, engaging, and fun.
